At a glance

  • Distributor: AI Mobility Co., Ltd. (บริษัท เอไอ โมบิลิตี้ จำกัด), a new subsidiary of AAS Group set up in 2026, appointed sole distributor by Dongfeng Motor Group (Autolifethailand, 2026-09-22, Naewna, 2026-09-23, The Nation PR, 2026-09-22); Bangkokbiznews says the company was set up earlier in 2026 (Bangkokbiznews). The official site states the same: "VOYAH enters Thailand through AI Mobility, its official distributor, part of AAS" (voyahthailand.com).
  • Agreement signed: 2026-07-30 (The Nation PR); announced 2026-09-22.
  • Brand launch + official Thai price: 2026-11-20 (Autolifethailand interview, 2026-10-27, The Nation, 2026-10-28); Bangkokbiznews confirms the 20 November date but not the pricing (Bangkokbiznews — the article shows no publication date).
  • Sales start: 2026-12-01 at the Ekkamai-Ramintra and Bangna showrooms (The Nation); Autolifethailand says first deliveries happen during Motor Expo in early December (Autolifethailand). Motor Expo 2026 runs 2–13 December at Challenger Hall 1–3, Muang Thong Thani; Voyah has a 220 m² booth (Autolifethailand — Motor Expo 2026 booth plan).
  • First model: Dream, a 7-seat, 100% battery-electric luxury MPV (Autolifethailand). Thai coverage also calls it the Dream 9 — see Which Dream?.
  • Models on sale (as of 2026-11-03): none. Dream announced, with a date.
  • Showrooms: 2 in Bangkok at launch (Ekkamai-Ramintra, Bangna), 6 more Bangkok + regional sites planned for 2027.
  • Current price band: none official. Pre-launch estimates only: "roughly ฿2.59–3.0 million" from briefing materials (The Nation); "expected not above ฿3 million" (Autolifethailand); "may open at ฿2.5–3 million" (Carwizard). None of these is an official price.
  • Import: imported from China. Bangkokbiznews says the EV is imported and qualifies for 0% duty under the ASEAN–China FTA (Bangkokbiznews — AAS wins VOYAH rights), and the first 500 cars are being shipped to Thailand by sea (Autolifethailand). Neither source uses the word "CBU"; evchu records the launch cars as CBU on that basis ◐.

VOYAH is Dongfeng's premium electrified brand, founded in April 2019 (The Nation, voyahthailand.com). Thailand is the first right-hand-drive market for the new Dream: Autolifethailand calls the Thai car the world's first RHD version, and Bangkokbiznews says Thailand is the first country outside China to sell it (Autolifethailand, Bangkokbiznews — Dream 9 targets 3 markets). CnEVPost reports Voyah planned to start overseas right-hand-drive sales of the Dream 9 in November 2026 (CnEVPost, 2026-09-22). AI Mobility names the Toyota Alphard and Lexus as rivals, alongside Chinese MPV brands already on sale in Thailand or about to enter (Autolifethailand).

Thai spelling. The distributor's own appointment release, as printed by Autolifethailand and Naewna, writes the brand โวย่า ("VOYAH (โวย่า)") (Autolifethailand, Naewna); Bangkokbiznews uses the same spelling (Bangkokbiznews). Other spellings seen: โวห์ย่าห์ (Posttoday, 2026-09-25) and วอยาห์ (car250 category label). The official Thai site uses Latin "VOYAH" only. Bangkokbiznews writes the model ดรีม 9 (Bangkokbiznews).

Distribution & business

AAS Group is a Thai premium-car retail group of almost 40 years' standing ("a specialist in premium automobiles for nearly 40 years" — voyahthailand.com; "more than four decades" — The Nation PR). AAS is also the Porsche importer (AAS Auto Service Co., Ltd., founded 1986) and the Avatr distributor (Infinite Automobile Co., Ltd.) — see the Porsche and Avatr brand pages. For Voyah, AAS set up a separate new company, AI Mobility Co., Ltd., in 2026 to handle import, distribution, the dealer network and nationwide customer service (Autolifethailand, Naewna; year from Bangkokbiznews).

  • AI Mobility CEO: Anuwat Inthraphuvasak (อนุวัชร อินทรภูวศักดิ์) (Naewna, Bangkokbiznews).
  • Dongfeng counterpart: Wang Long (หวัง หลง), Chairman, China Dongfeng Motor Industry Import and Export Co., Ltd. (Naewna, The Nation PR).
  • Agreement: Sole Distributor Agreement with Dongfeng Motor Group, signed 2026-07-30 (The Nation PR). Dongfeng originally planned Hong Kong as the Dream's first export market, then moved the debut to Thailand to coincide with the Thai business launch (Bangkokbiznews).

Volume targets: 500 units in the rest of 2026 and 1,200 in 2027, cut from an earlier 2,800 for 2027 because new excise rules are expected to raise prices of Chinese imports (Autolifethailand, Bangkokbiznews) ✓. The first lot of 500 cars is being shipped by sea (Autolifethailand). Grandprix's headline reports AI Mobility aims for 500 bookings at the debut (Grandprix) [unverified] — headline only; grandprix.co.th's robots.txt disallows our fetcher, so the article body was not read.

Investment: ฿200–300 m for at least six showroom/service sites in Bangkok and the provinces (Bangkokbiznews). Marketing budget ฿50–60 m for the rest of 2026 (The Nation).

Local assembly: none yet. Initial cars are CBU imports from China. AI Mobility and Dongfeng are studying Thai assembly: a first phase of contract SKD assembly, possibly a JV with one partner, possibly land and a plant later — no decision until the government's new excise structure is clear (Autolifethailand, Bangkokbiznews, The Nation). Bangkokbiznews reports the industry expectation that excise on imported EVs rises from 10% to 30% or more in 2027 versus 2% for locally assembled cars [unverified] — not an official rate.

Why BEV only: BEVs from China enter at 0% import duty under the ASEAN–China FTA, while a PHEV pays 80%, so the Thai Dream is the EV version (Bangkokbiznews — AAS wins VOYAH rights).

Parts-delivery target: within 9 working days, with a local parts stock (Autolifethailand).

Dream — 7-seat full-size luxury electric MPV

A 5.3 m, three-row, seven-seat luxury MPV with "zero-gravity" second-row seats (CnEVPost) and power sliding doors on both sides (Carwizard). AI Mobility names the Toyota Alphard and Lexus as rivals (Autolifethailand); Carwizard adds the XPENG X9, Zeekr 009 and Denza D9 (Carwizard).

Which Dream? (Dream vs Dream 9)

China sells two Dreams: the original Dream (梦想家, on sale since 2022, BEV / PHEV / EREV) and the new flagship Dream 9 (Dreamer 9), launched in Beijing on 2026-09-22 as a BEV and a PHEV (Wikipedia, CnEVPost). The Thai car is the Dream 9 BEV ◐:

evchu lists the car as the Dream, the name the distributor uses, and identifies it as the Dream 9 in the generation name. The Thai marketing name (Dream or Dream 9) is [unverified] until 2026-11-20.

Lineage & platform

  • Generation: Dream 9 (China pre-sales 2026-09-05, launch 2026-09-22) (CnEVPost pre-sales, CnEVPost launch). Wikipedia treats it as a luxury variant sold alongside the original Dream rather than a replacement (Wikipedia).
  • Platform: [unverified] for the Dream 9. The original Dream uses Dongfeng's ESSA (Electric Smart Secure Architecture) (Wikipedia); the Dream 9 launch material names only its chassis: "Huju Chassis P" (The Nation PR — Dream 9 debut), "Huju Premium" (CnEVPost).
  • Architecture: 800 V — stated for all Dream 9 versions (CnEVPost, The Nation PR) and for the Thai car in the distributor briefing (The Nation) ✓.
  • Origin: imported from China — recorded as CBU ◐ (see At a glance; no source uses the word "CBU"). Plant [unverified] — the original Dream is built in Wuhan (Wikipedia).

Out of scope

  • Dream 9 PHEV (1.5 T + dual motors, 65 kWh, 555–560 kW): plug-in hybrid — out of scope. Not planned for Thailand at launch; it would pay 80% import duty (Bangkokbiznews, CnEVPost).
  • Original Dream (2022–, China BEV 82–108.7 kWh NMC, PHEV, EREV): not announced for Thailand (Wikipedia). Its PHEV and EREV versions would be out of scope anyway.
  • 4-seat Dream: planned for 2027 / under evaluation — not announced as a product.
  • Free, Passion (Zhiyin), Courage and other Voyah models: not announced for Thailand. The Nation says a fuller line-up may follow once infrastructure and tax policy settle; ESSA supports BEV, EREV and PHEV, and which powertrains Thailand gets is not confirmed (The Nation).
