▸ About Juneyao in Thailand
Compiled from the Thai distributor's own site, launch press and government records. Every claim carries a source, and anything we could not verify is marked [unverified] rather than guessed · ~21 min read
At a glance
- Distributor: JuneYao Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. — "ผู้ผลิตและผู้จัดจำหน่ายรถยนต์ไฟฟ้า" in the same group as Juneyao Airlines (Autolifethailand, 2024-11-19, Thansettakij, 2024-11-19, Sanook, 2024-11-20).
- Entered Thailand: 2024-11-19 — the brand's first launch anywhere, ahead of China (Headlightmag full review, 2025-07-11, CarNewsChina, 2024-12-02). China launch followed on 2025-05-07 (Headlightmag).
- First model launched: JY AIR (C-segment electric sedan), CBU from China.
- Models on sale (as last confirmed, 2025): JY AIR — Standard, Plus, Max.
- Showrooms: 4 dealer showroom-service sites (Bangkok Nawamin, Bangkok Suwinthawong, Chonburi, Udon Thani) plus 7 AutoClik partner service points (Headlightmag, July 2025).
- Price band (last confirmed 2025): ฿759,000 – ฿959,000.
- Import: CBU from China — "นำเข้า CBU จีน" (Autolifethailand).
Juneyao's parent group also owns Juneyao Airlines, and the brand sold the JY AIR on that link: three years of Juneyao Airlines Gold membership and 12 free airline seats came with every car. Managing director Zhang Haibo (จาง ไห่ โป), formerly at MG Thailand, ran the launch and promised the brand "would not join the price war" (Autolifethailand interview, 2024-11-19). The launch went poorly: 63 bookings from Motor Expo 2024 against a 300-unit 2025 target, few dealers, and Zhang left for Charoen Pokphand (CP) on 2025-06-13 (Headlightmag). DLT data shows 46 JY AIRs registered from February 2025 to January 2026, more than half of them as taxis (see Sales).
Thai spelling. Thai press writes the brand จูนเหยา (Thansettakij headline "จูนเหยา เปิดราคา EV รุ่นแรกในไทย"; Bangkokbiznews; 9carthai "จูนเหยา JY Air"), and the registered company name uses the same spelling. The official site also writes จูนเหยา (จูนเหยา กรุ๊ป, จูนเหยา ออโต). The model name stays in Latin script ("JY AIR") everywhere.
Distribution & business
JuneYao Group bought the debt-laden EV start-up YUDO Auto (Putian, Fujian) in Q2 2022 and started its car business in earnest in November 2023 (Autolifethailand interview, Headlightmag). The official Thai site says the JY AIR is built in the YUDO Battery Electric Vehicles Smart Plant, in operation since 2016 on 200,000 m² with capacity for 100,000 cars a year, in Fujian province (juneyaothailand.com, archived 2026-01-05). Wikipedia gives the city as Putian, Fujian (JY Air) ◐.
The Thai company, JuneYao Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd., imports and distributes directly. The launch press event was held on 2024-11-19 at EM Sphere (Bangkok) (Headlightmag). At launch it announced a partnership with Central Group (Autolifethailand interview).
Plans announced at launch (none delivered as of the newest source):
- Dealers: 10 showrooms by end-2024, 30 by end-2025, 90 by 2028 (Autolifethailand interview, Thansettakij). By July 2025 there were 4 (Headlightmag).
- Sales: about 300 bookings expected at Motor Expo 2024; 3,000 units in 2025 (4,000–5,000 with a small SUV) (Bangkokbiznews, car250, 2024-12-18 — lead only). Actual: 63 bookings at the show, 2025 target 300 (Headlightmag).
- Thai factory: a right-hand-drive plant, ~20,000 cars a year, leased
in Suphan Buri with a partner Bangkokbiznews spells "สกุลฎ์ซี"
(Wikipedia: "SAKUN.C"), ready late 2025, production from early 2026,
starting with a small B-SUV; BOI and EV 3.5 applications filed
(Bangkokbiznews,
Autolifethailand interview,
Thansettakij).
Headlightmag reported no visible progress by July 2025. Whether any
Thai assembly ever started is
[unverified]— no source found, and every DLT-registered JY AIR is consistent with CBU imports. - Model plan: at least one new model a year; pickup, large SUV and MPV for 2027 (2570), with EREV versions (Bangkokbiznews).
Business health. Headlightmag's review (2025-07-11) is titled, in effect, "the car is drivable, but the company may not survive". It cites: YUDO's history of losses before the takeover; 63 bookings; few dealers and reluctant investors; Zhang Haibo leaving on 2025-06-13 to become a vice-chairman of CP's automotive and industrial business; no factory progress; almost no paid advertising; an unconfirmed report that one multi-brand Juneyao dealer had cash-flow trouble; and early quality problems on press cars. It also says the business was continuing "quietly", cars were still on sale and after-sales was running (Headlightmag).
Signals after July 2025:
- car250 (aggregator, lead only) still listed 759k / 869k / 959k on 2025-10-03 (car250).
- The official site's TLS certificate (
CN=juneyaothailand.com, RapidSSL) was renewed on 2025-10-23 and expired on 2026-10-22 without renewal (checked 2026-11-03 withopenssl s_client). The bare domain over HTTP serves a hosting-panel default page. The Wayback Machine holds site assets up to 2026-01-05. - Newest DLT registration: January 2026 (DLT publishes ~8 months late; see Sales).
- Autolifethailand's monthly C-segment sales reports still list the JY AIR in 2026: 7 cars in Q1, 5 in April, 1 in June and none in July (May unclear) — see Sales. So cars were still being sold, slowly, until at least June 2026.
- Autolifethailand's Motor Expo 2026 booth plan lists "JUNEYAO ไม่มาออกงาน" — Juneyao is not attending (Autolifethailand, 2026-11-02).
- evchu's own news feed (Autolifethailand, Headlightmag, Paultan, 9carthai, Grandprix, Ridebuster; 760 items, 2026-05-14 → 2026-11-03) has no article about Juneyao itself; the brand appears only in the Autolifethailand C-segment sales tables (May and June 2026 reports).

Pricing — what ฿759,000 means
The launch announcements disagree on whether ฿759,000 / ฿869,000 were a time-limited special or the actual price:
- Sanook (2024-11-20 and 2024-12-01) and Motorist (2024-12-13): ฿759,000 (ปกติ ฿899,000) and ฿869,000 (ปกติ ฿1,018,000) are "ราคาพิเศษ เฉพาะลูกค้าที่สั่งจองระหว่าง 19 พฤศจิกายน - 30 ธันวาคม 2567 และได้รับรถภายใน วันที่ 31 มกราคม 2568" (Sanook, Sanook, Motorist).
- Thansettakij (2024-11-19): ฿899,000 / ฿1,018,000 is the price before the EV 3.5 subsidy, ฿759,000 / ฿869,000 after it (Thansettakij). (The gap, ฿140,000–149,000, is larger than the EV 3.5 subsidy, so this framing is itself doubtful.)
- Autolifethailand (2024-11-19 and 2025-03-29) prints ฿759,000 / ฿869,000 as the "ราคาอย่างเป็นทางการ" (official price) with no regular price and no deadline.
- Headlightmag (2025-07-11) settles the practical question: the selling price has been ฿759,000 / ฿869,000 since launch, unchanged, with the launch campaign still running.
price (no price change on the chart). ฿899,000 / ฿1,018,000 is kept as a note, not as a price observation, because no buyer was ever quoted it after launch in any source found. CarNewsChina reported the 899k / 1,018k figures as the price (CarNewsChina).

Source conflicts (Plus):
- Power: the launch press kit (Autolifethailand, both articles) and
9carthai give one 204 PS / 150 kW motor for every trim; CarNewsChina
agrees (150 kW). Headlightmag's spec text gives the Plus 218 PS,
Wikipedia 161 kW (216 hp) and Bangkokbiznews 214 hp — all

JY AIR Max — ฿959,000 (last confirmed 2025-05-13)

Distinctive features (vs Plus)
Per Autolifethailand: front-seat ventilation, driver's seat memory, premium rear seat with a centre armrest. Headlightmag's Plus already had ventilated front seats and no rear armrest, so the real difference is at least the memory seat and the rear armrest ◐.

mentions only Standard and Plus, and the DLT data has no "Max" label —
any Max sold may be registered as "JY AIR Plus".
