At a glance

  • Distributor: Edison EV Co., Ltd. (บริษัท เอดิสัน อีวี จำกัด), the sole Thai distributor of DFSK electric vehicles, appointed by Chongqing Sokon Motor (Group) Import & Export Co., Ltd. on behalf of SERES Group; founded 2024-06-28 (Autolifethailand, 2025-10-22, ThaiPR press release, 2025-10-24, Thairath, 2025-05-16).
  • Entered Thailand: May 2025 — official SERES 3 prices reported on 2025-05-16 (Thairath) and 2025-05-17 (Autolifethailand, car250). The launch-event date itself is not stated by any source.
  • First model launched: SERES 3 compact electric SUV.
  • Models on sale (last confirmed 2025-10-22): SERES 3 (Comfort, Comfort Sunroof). Whether it is still on sale on 2026-11-03 is [unverified] — see Status in 2026.
  • Showrooms: one — DFSK Sukhaphiban 5 (สุขาภิบาล 5), Bangkok, which is also the head office; tel. 064-656-2283 (car250, Autolifethailand, 2025-10-22, ThaiPR).
  • Price band: ฿670,000 – ฿699,900 (launch prices, 2025-05-16; the Comfort's ฿670,000 was confirmed again on 2025-10-22, while the Comfort Sunroof's October 2025 price is disputed — see Pricing).
  • Import: CBU from China (Autolifethailand, Autolifethailand, 2025-10-22, Technology Khabar).

SERES is the Chongqing car group formerly known as Sokon; DFSK (Dongfeng Sokon) is its export brand, and in Thailand the car is sold by a DFSK distributor while wearing SERES badges. The Department of Land Transport registers it under brand "SERES", model "SERES 3" (see Sales / market position). The SERES 3 was first announced for Thailand in 2022 by the previous DFSK importer, EV Primus (formerly EV Halyconic), which then sold the petrol Glory i-Auto and Glory 560 imported from Indonesia (Autolifethailand, 2022-03-09). That launch did not happen; the car went on sale only in 2025, through the new distributor Edison EV.

Thai spelling. The group name is written เซเรส ("เซเรส กรุ๊ป (Seres Group)") in the October 2025 reports by Marketeer and Autospinn, which use the same wording and so probably share one Thai press release. Thairath, Autolifethailand and car250 write "SERES" and "DFSK" in Latin script, and no Thai spelling of "DFSK" or of the model name was found. The distributor's Thai name is เอดิสัน อีวี (Autolifethailand, 2025-10-22).

Distribution & business

Edison EV Co., Ltd. was founded on 2024-06-28 with SERES Group's backing, through DFSK / Chongqing Sokon Motor (Group) Import & Export Co., Ltd. (ThaiPR, Autospinn, 2025-10-22). The Motor Expo organiser names the founder as Yi Zhou Tian (อี้ จั้ว เถียน) (motorexpo.co.th, 2025-12-03, Autolifethailand, 2025-12-01). The general manager is Tanjira Puritputtiphan (ธันย์จิรา ภูริชพุฒิพันธ์), the spelling used in Edison EV's own English press release (ThaiPR, Autolifethailand, 2025-10-22). At the May 2025 launch she was introduced as dealer-network development manager (Thairath).

Launch plan (May 2025): more than ฿100 million invested in a main showroom; 30 dealers nationwide during 2025; about 1,000 units, "in 2025" per Thairath and Autolifethailand, or within 12 months (May 2025 – May 2026) per Autolifethailand's October report. A Thai assembly plant was also planned (Autolifethailand, 2025-10-22).

Revised plan (October 2025): at its official company launch press conference on 2025-10-22, Edison EV cut the dealer target to about 10 by 2026 and said the assembly-plant plan was unclear and still under discussion, because investor confidence had changed. It called 2025 a foundation year, with steady growth planned for 2026–2027. It blamed a sharply slowing Thai market and a Chinese brand that went bankrupt in China, which had hurt confidence in new Chinese brands. It cut the SERES 3 price, saying the price war could not be avoided, and did not disclose how many cars it had delivered (Autolifethailand, 2025-10-22). Planned dealer rollout: Bangkok and its surroundings first, then Chiang Mai, Phitsanulok, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chonburi, Rayong, Phuket and Songkhla (Autospinn). No dealer had been named publicly by 2026-11-03.

Local assembly: none. All cars are CBU from China (see above).

Status in 2026

No 2026 source confirms the SERES 3 is still on sale, and none says it has been withdrawn:

  • The last dated price report is 2025-10-22 (Autolifethailand). The Motor Expo organiser's page about the ฿599,200 Motor Expo 2025 price carries a 2026-01-05 date but describes the 2025 offer (motorexpo.co.th).
  • DLT first registrations of the SERES 3: 1 in July 2025 and 2 in January 2026, none in the other months from May 2025 to January 2026 (the newest month in the DLT brand-and-model data; DLT publishes with a lag of about eight months). Source: DLT open data, first-registration statistics by brand and model (gdcatalog.dlt.go.th), passenger cars up to 7 seats.
  • DFSK did not exhibit at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2026 (March–April 2026) — listed as "DFSK ไม่มาออกงาน" (Autolifethailand, 2026-03-09).
  • DFSK / SERES is not exhibiting at Motor Expo 2026 — listed as "DFSK SERES ไม่มาออกงาน" (Autolifethailand, 2026-11-02).
  • Autolifethailand's DFSK tag page, checked 2026-11-03, has no SERES 3 article after 2025-10-22; its only 2026 DFSK item is the Hong Kong launch of the right-hand-drive E5 Plus (Autolifethailand tag "DFSK").
  • No official Thai website for DFSK, SERES or Edison EV was found. The only published contact is the hotline 064-656-2283.

So availability on 2026-11-03 is [unverified]. The prices below are labelled with the date they were last confirmed: 2025-10-22 for the Comfort, and the 2025-05-16 launch for the Comfort Sunroof, whose October 2025 price is disputed (see Pricing).

  • Thai-market build: two trims, Comfort and Comfort Sunroof, with one powertrain (Autolifethailand).
  • Platform conflict: car250 instead says the car is a converted combustion-car platform shared with the DFSK Glory 580/560 (not a dedicated EV platform) (car250). Platform [unverified].

Pricing

Trim Launch price (2025-05-16) Regular price in October 2025 reports Motor Expo 2025 price
SERES 3 Comfort ฿670,000 ฿670,000 (two reports agree) ฿599,200
SERES 3 Comfort Sunroof ฿699,900 conflicting: ฿690,000 (two reports) / ฿699,900 (one report) [unverified] ฿599,200
  • Launch prices: ฿670,000 / ฿699,900 — Thairath (2025-05-16), Autolifethailand (2025-05-17), car250 (2025-05-17), Technology Khabar. Thairath calls the sunroof price a launch-period price and says the prices include VAT and first-class insurance ("รวม vat พร้อมประกันภัยชั้น").

  • Regular prices in October 2025: Comfort ("Standard") ฿670,000 — both Autolifethailand's business-plan report and Marketeer, which quotes the general manager. For the Comfort Sunroof the October reports conflict [unverified]:

    • ฿690,000 — Autolifethailand's business-plan report and Marketeer. In Marketeer the general manager gives ฿670,000 and ฿690,000 as the original May 2025 launch prices, which contradicts every May 2025 launch report (฿699,900), so ฿690,000 may be a rounding in the interview.
    • ฿699,900 — Autolifethailand's price article of the same day, whose ฿100,700 discount is ฿699,900 − ฿599,200 (Autolifethailand). That article lists only the Comfort Sunroof, repeats the May launch article's text, and gives an offer end date ("until 11 November", the end of Motor Expo) that does not match the show.

So ฿699,900 is used as the Comfort Sunroof's current price, but it is dated to the 2025-05-16 launch, the last date two independent outlets (Thairath and Autolifethailand) agreed on it, not to 2025-10-22.

  • Temporary price ฿599,200 for either trim, with 1-year first-class insurance free. Dates differ by source:

    • 2025-10-22 to 2025-12-10 (the last day of Motor Expo 2025) (Autolifethailand business plan);
    • "until 11 November", tied to the end of Motor Expo (Autolifethailand price article), which does not match the show's dates;
    • only for bookings made at Motor Expo 2025, 29 November – 10 December 2025, booth B08, with immediate delivery (Marketeer, Autospinn, motorexpo.co.th). Autospinn calls ฿599,200 the "official selling price", but as a special price for show bookings only. The offer has expired. It is stored as a promo price, not a new regular price.
  • 2026 price: none published [unverified]. One price aggregator lists "Seres 3" at ฿909,500 with 53.61 kWh / 407 km on its 2026-11-03 page (Bangkok Motorhaus); the figure appears in no Thai press report or distributor release, its

Sales / market position

  • DLT first registrations, SERES 3 (brand "SERES", model "SERES 3", passenger cars up to 7 seats): July 2025 — 1; January 2026 — 2; zero in every other month from May 2025 to January 2026. Total 3 against a launch target of about 1,000 in 12 months. Source: DLT open data, first-registration statistics by brand and model (gdcatalog.dlt.go.th). In October 2025 Marketeer reported a single registration so far, with delivered cars awaiting registration (Marketeer), and Autolifethailand put that one registration in June 2025, a month earlier than the DLT data shows (Autolifethailand); the Motor Expo organiser said the first batch "sold quickly" (motorexpo.co.th).
