▸ About Suzuki in Thailand

Compiled from the Thai distributor's own site, launch press and government records. Every claim carries a source, and anything we could not verify is marked [unverified] rather than guessed · ~16 min read

At a glance

10250" (back page of the official e VITARA brochure).
  • Entered the Thai EV market: e VITARA shown at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2026 (Autolifethailand report dated 2026-03-24 — Autolifethailand); official price announced 2026-04-23 (Thairath, 2026-04-24, Autolifethailand, 2026-04-23, 9carthai, 2026-04-23).
  • First (and only) BEV: e VITARA compact electric SUV — Suzuki's first battery-electric car ("รถไฟฟ้า100% รุ่นแรกของ Suzuki" — Autolifethailand).
  • BEV models on sale (as of 2026-11-03): e VITARA GLX (ALLGRIP-e 4WD) only (suzuki.co.th — price & spec).
  • Showrooms: 80 Suzuki showrooms nationwide ◐ (Thairath).
  • Current price band: ฿2,890,000 – ฿2,905,000 (one grade; the price depends on the paint colour — suzuki.co.th).
  • Import: CBU from India — "นำเข้าทั้งคัน (CBU) จากอินเดีย" (Thairath, Autolifethailand).

The e VITARA reached Thailand as a single, fully loaded four-wheel-drive version at ฿2.89 m — far above the "1.x million, under ฿2 m" that Autolifethailand had guessed at the Motor Show (Autolifethailand, 2026-03-24). Thairath headlined the reaction "เห็นราคาพากันแยกย้าย" (people walked away when they saw the price) and attributes the price to the car being a CBU import from India, which does not get the tax privileges that EVs imported from China under the FTA receive, so it carries full import duty and excise tax ("ไม่ได้สิทธิประโยชน์ทางภาษีเหมือนรถ EV ที่นำเข้าจากจีนภายใต้ข้อตกลง FTA" — Thairath).

Thai spelling. The brand is written ซูซูกิ by the distributor itself (brochure). The official site and Thairath write the model only in Latin script, "e VITARA". 9carthai uses two spellings: the tag ซูซูกิ อี วีทาร่า 2026 (9carthai tag page) and, on its launch-price article, the tag ซูซูกิ อี-วิทาร่า (9carthai).

Distribution & business

Suzuki sells cars in Thailand through its own subsidiary, Suzuki Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd., headquartered on On Nut Road in Bangkok; the customer line is 1800-600-900 ("SUZUKI Cause We Care") (brochure). Official channels: suzuki.co.th, Facebook — officialsuzukimotorthailand, YouTube (linked from the official site).

The e VITARA is built in India and imported whole (CBU) (Thairath). The Indian plant is not named by any Thai source consulted [unverified].

Company history (official). Suzuki's About page says Suzuki Motor Corporation founded Suzuki Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. on 1 August 2554 BE (2011) and built its first Thai car plant at Pluak Daeng, Rayong, which started building the Swift eco car in 2555 BE (2012), followed by the Celerio and Ciaz. The page's model timeline begins in 2552 BE (2009) with the Swift ("ครั้งแรกในเมืองไทย"), before that founding date, and lists the e VITARA under March 2569 BE (2026). At the end of 2568 BE (2025) Suzuki restructured its Thai business from a production base to an importer of cars from plants in ASEAN, Japan and India (suzuki.co.th — about us). Suzuki's first car sale in Thailand predates these dates and is not researched [unverified].

Suzuki is not exhibiting at Motor Expo 2026 (2–13 December 2026) — "SUZUKI ไม่มาออกงาน" (Autolifethailand, 2026-11-02).

Showrooms

Suzuki's existing dealer network sells the e VITARA; Thairath counts 80 showrooms nationwide ◐ (single source — Thairath). The official dealer locator (suzuki.co.th/dealer) groups dealers by region and does not flag which ones are equipped for the EV [unverified].

Service centers

Same dealer network. Which dealers are certified to service the high-voltage system is [unverified].

Charging network partners

No public-charging partnership announced. The car comes with a free Mode 2 portable charging cable (valued at ฿32,159); no wallbox is included (suzuki.co.th — e VITARA promotion, 1–30 Nov 2026).

Warranty terms

From the official November 2026 offer page (suzuki.co.th — promotion detail) and the brochure warranty badges (brochure); the same package was reported at launch (Thairath, Autolifethailand):

  • Vehicle: 3 years / 100,000 km
  • Motor and drive system: 5 years / 100,000 km
  • High-voltage battery: 8 years / 160,000 km
  • Maintenance package: free, 8 years / 160,000 km

  • Wallbox: none — Mode 2 portable cable only

The offer page is dated 1–30 November 2026 and says each item follows the company's own terms.

Trims

e VITARA GLX (ALLGRIP-e 4WD) — ฿2,890,000

Pricing. The official price & spec page lists one grade, GLX, at ฿2,890,000 (suzuki.co.th — price & spec). Paint costs extra on three of the five colours (see Colors), so the full range is ฿2,890,000–2,905,000 (suzuki.co.th, Thairath). No introductory or time-limited price has been announced; the price on 2026-11-03 is the launch price. Suzuki's flood-relief "V" CARE discount (up to ฿110,000, 1 Oct–30 Nov 2026) covers only the FRONX, XL7 and CARRY, not the e VITARA (suzuki.co.th — news, 2026-10-01). Autolifethailand calls the version "e-VITARA AWD (Long Range 4WD)" (Autolifethailand).

Source conflicts, resolved to the official spec sheet:

  • Combined power: the official sheet gives 135 kW total, less than the 128 + 48 kW sum of the two motors (system output is capped). Autolifethailand's 184 hp matches 135 kW (184 PS).
  • Boot: Autolifethailand gives 306 L; the official VDA figure is 238–310 L with the rear seats up.
  • Height: one Autolifethailand comparison table says 1,636 mm; the official sheet says 1,635 mm.
  • Pre-launch figures: the Motor Show report's "DC above 150 kW, 15–70% in about 30 minutes" and "about 500 km (NEDC)" (Autolifethailand, 2026-03-24) were pre-launch guesses and do not match the Thai specification.
  • Front seats: Autolifethailand lists ventilated front seats; the brochure's English wording is "Heated seats (driver and passenger)" and the Thai wording is "ปรับอุณหภูมิได้" (temperature-adjustable). Listed here as heated; ventilation [unverified].
  • Smartphone link: Autolifethailand says wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto; the brochure says only "Apple CarPlay and Android Auto linkage". Wireless [unverified].
Standard equipment

From the official brochure equipment table (all items "S", standard) (brochure, suzuki.co.th — price & spec):

Colors

Five colours, two of them two-tone with a Bluish Black Pearl roof (brochure, suzuki.co.th). Surcharges are the official site's colour notes ("เพิ่ม 5,000 บาท สำหรับสีขาว", "เพิ่ม 10,000 บาท สำหรับสี Two-tone", "เพิ่ม 15,000 บาท สำหรับสีขาว Two-tone"); the resulting prices match Thairath's colour price list (Thairath). Hex values are the colours of the official site's swatch images.

Interior: black with brown accents, fabric and synthetic leather (brochure interior photos and equipment table).

Hongqi figures as documented in the Hongqi research doc (Headlightmag). On price alone the e VITARA sits beside much larger cars; Thairath ties this to the India-built CBU not getting the FTA tax privileges that China-built EVs get, so it pays full import duty and excise tax (Thairath).
